Blue Velvet

When I ordered this dress with its devoré effect and sequins, the colour appeared to be a lot lighter on the photo but actually now I don't mind the intense turquoise. And since it was on a major sale, it was a no-brainer keeping it. And finally I had a piece to pair with my snake clutch - I can't deny I am a matchy-matchy person!

You know I love dresses and use every opportunity to wear them. Since we had a very mild winter so far (this was the last shooting without any snow though), I didn't want to wear boots but my new suede pumps. Usually I prefer black opaque tights but this dress requires nude ones which is a new look for me!

BTW, I have never watched "Blue Velvet", don't think that's my type of movie.

Im Online Shop sah die Farbe dieses Samtkleides wesentlich heller aus, aber jetzt bin ich mehr als zufrieden über das intensive Türkis! Die Ausbrenneroptik und die Paillettensäume finde ich besonders schön - und fast noch besser - es war unglaublich reduziert. Und außerdem habe ich jetzt endlich ein passendes Teil für meine Schlangenprint Clutch, denn ich liebe Ton-in-Ton Looks.

Meine Leserinnen wissen, dass Kleider meine Lieblingsstücke sind und ich jede Gelegenheit nutze, sie zu tragen. Da der Winter hier zum Glück bisher ja sehr mild war (vorerst das letzte shooting komplett ohne Schnee), wollte ich auch keine Stiefel, sondern meine neuen Wildlederpumps dazu tragen. Wenn erforderlich, trage ich am liebsten schwarze, blickdichte Strümpfe, aber zu diesem Kleid passen nur hautfarbene - ein Novum für mich!

Übrigens habe ich "Blue Velvet" nie gesehen, denke, das ist nicht so mein Genre.

SNAKE PRINTS OFFICE STYLE

Snake Prints

Hope you don't get bored by the same snow scenery over the past couple of posts...

Some of you asked whether I am not cold wearing a blazer only - for you, my dear readers I don't mind ;-) But I assume you don't prefer seeing me in my 7:30 morning-snow-shovelling-all-wrapped-up-look which might be warm but not too inspirational!!

I paired my green snake-print jacket with a basic black look and wore this to the office and an informal luncheon. The jacket belonged to my friend and when she asked me whether I could sell it on ebay for her I instantly said "no" but kept it for myself. Wise decision? I do think so. I love monochrome looks but find it interesting to add some prints and patterns - a blazer or a scarf can make all the difference.

However, to stay warm I put on my black fur coat, a lovely surprise present by Mr C. He really knows my style!

Even though I won't be on my official Christmas leave for another 2 weeks, it is already getting quieter at work. I am very happy that my daughter already finished her term and returned from London yesterday and my son will join us in the near future. It feels so good to have them at home!

Schlangenleder

Nochmal ein post bei Schnee und Sonnenschein, hoffentlich langweile ich Euch nicht!

Einige von Euch haben mich gefragt, ob ich nicht friere... was tut man nicht alles als Blogger ;-) Mein frühmorgendliches Schneeschaufel-Outfit mit Mütze, dicken Fäustlingen und Wollschal bis zur Nasenspitze ist zwar warm, aber weniger präsentabel und inspirierend...

Für meinen heutigen Bürolook incl. Einladung zu einem informellen Mittagessen habe ich schwarze Basics mit meiner grünen Schlangenlederjacke und Stiefeln kombiniert. Diese Jacke gehörte meiner Freundin und ich sollte sie auf ebay verkaufen. Hatte ich abgelehnt und selbst behalten - eine gute Entscheidung, oder?

Und damit ich eben doch nicht friere, kam mein schwarzer Mantel mit Pelzbesatz dazu, den mir Mr C als Überraschung geschenkt hat - selbst ausgesucht, er kennt meinen Stil genau :-) 

Ich muss zwar noch zwei Wochen arbeiten, aber im Büro ist es schon deutlich ruhiger geworden. Gestern kam meine Tochter von der Uni aus London zurück und mein Sohn kommt in knapp 2 Wochen nach Hause! Ich bin zwar kein großer Weihnachtsfan, aber die beiden wieder bei mir zu haben, ist einfach wunderschön.
