Wiedersehen mit meiner Over 40 Collective

Was für ein Abend!
Endlich wieder einmal ein langes Kleid tragen, dazu viel Glitzer und Pailletten und ein bisschen mehr Makeup auftragen als sonst... Ein Uber bestellt und los ging's entlang des Hyde Parks, vorbei am exclusiven Dorchester Hotel in der Park Lane, Buckingham Palace und Big Ben und über die Themse zum Westminster Park Plaza Hotel, dem Veranstaltungsort der diesjährigen UK Blog Awards letzte Woche in London.

Finalistinnen in der Kategorie Fashion & Beauty waren zwei meiner lieben Bloggerfreundinnen der Over 40 Collective: Catherine von Not Dressed As Lamb und Nikki von Midlifechic.
Bevor Fragen aufkommen: Nein, ich war selbst nicht unter den Anwärterinnen, da der Wettbewerb auf Großbritannien begrenzt ist. Eine Veranstaltung dieser Art für Blogger ist mir hier in Deutschland nicht bekannt.

Einzig unsere Freundin Liz konnte diesmal leider nicht dabei sein, dafür hatten wir einen "Special Guest", die wunderbare Greetje von No Fear of Fashion aus Amsterdam - wir kennen uns bereits seit den Anfängen unserer Blogs!

Gemeinsam konnten wir schließlich Catherine's Sieg und Nikki's spezielle Auszeichnung feiern!
Eine wunderbare Anerkennung für 40/50+ Bloggerinnen, eigentlich sollte man das Alter gar nicht besonders erwähnen müssen, aber leider wird es erst langsam zur Normalität (nicht nur ) in der Modebloggerszene.

Es war ein wunderbarer Abend unter Freundinnen und ebenso schön, die mitgereisten "Blogger Husbands" von Catherine, Michelle L-D und Nikki "in echt" kennenzulernen und so lustig zu hören, was sie über mich schon alles wußten ;-)

Die Fotos stammen von Catherine und ihrem Mann Keith, sie bitten die Qualität aufgrund der sehr schwierigen Lichtverhältnisse im Foyer zu entschuldigen. Ich finde sie großartig!!
Keith führt übrigens einen eigenen Blog. Auf Silver Londoner stellt er seine lässig-schicken 40+ Looks vor, schaut auf jeden Fall vorbei, denn Herrenmodeblogs sind außer für ganz junge Männer noch eine große Ausnahme. Ich würde mir jedenfalls wünschen, mehr Männer ließen sich von seinem tollen Stil inspirieren...!

MAJOR SUCCESS OF THE OVER 40 COLLECTIVE AT THE UK BLOG AWARDS 2017

Visibility and appreciation of 40/50+ fashion and style bloggers

Such an incredible night!
Finally wearing a long evening dress again, sequins and sparkle and a bit more makeup than I'd usually do...
I booked an Uber and drove along Hyde Park, the exclusive Dorchester Hotel on Park Lane, Buckingham Palace, passed Big Ben and crossed the Thames towards Westminster Park Plaza Hotel, the venue of the UK Blog Awards in London last week.

Two of my blogger friends of the Over 40 Collective had been nominated as finalists in the fashion & beauty category: Catherine of Not Dressed As Lamb and Nikki of Midlifechic.
In order to avoid any questions: No, I couldn't enter this competition since it is open for UK bloggers only. I am also not aware of any similar award here in Germany.

Unfortunately Liz, lovely member of our collective couldn't attend because of a family event. However, we had a "special guest": Greetje of No Fear of Fashion from Amsterdam joined us! So glad we had this opportunity to meet again since we have known each other from the early days of our blogs.

It has been such an exciting moment when the winners of the fashion & beauty category were announced and together we celebrated Catherine`s win and Nikki's "highly commended"!
Two very special appreciations of 40/50+ bloggers and hopefully soon it won't be necessary to even mention the age anylonger but simply talk of "fashion and style bloggers".

We all enjoyed the evening and I finally met the husbands of Catherine, Michelle L-D and Nikki! Funny to hear how much they already knew about me ;-)

These photos were taken by Catherine and her husband Keith and they apologise for the quality - the light in the lobby has been a real challenge - but I absolutely love them!
BTW, Keith is a blogger himself and presents his stylish outfits for 40+ gentlemen on his blog Silver Londoner.
I really wish more (German) men would take inspiration and style advice from him!!
