Teil 1 - Modisch-schick und repräsentativ für's Büro
Lasst Ihr Euch beraten, wenn Ihr ein neues Outfit sucht? Mich regt es ehrlich gesagt schon im Laden auf, wenn ich angesprochen werde, ob man mir behilflich sein kann. Dann kommt postwendend meine Standardantwort "Nein danke, ich möchte mich erstmal umschauen!" Das sagen vermutlich die meisten Frauen, oder? Einerseits weiß ich was ich will, andererseits habe ich null Vertrauen in die Beratung und den Geschmack der meisten Verkäuferinnen - und das war schon immer so.
Mittlerweile shoppe ich nur in ganz wenigen Fällen im Laden, eigentlich nur, wenn ich unterwegs bin, vor allem in London oder im Urlaub. Hier auf dem Land ist die Auswahl so gering und daher kaufe ich das meiste online. Ausnahmen sind natürlich besondere Einzelteile, oft Schmuck und Accessoires, immer häufiger Schuhe und natürlich schöne Dekoartikel und Gartenzubehör - da macht es mir einfach Spaß, vor Ort auszuwählen!
Als ich von den Macherinnen des sisterMAG, dem digitalen Magazin von Thea Neubauer und Antonia Sutter (den "sisters" eben) gefragt wurde, ob ich Lust hätte, den online Styling Service ZALON von Zalando auszuprobieren, war ich echt neugierig! Ich kannte beide, sowie das tolle Team in Berlin ja bereits durch mein Yoga Covershooting für ihr Lebenlang Magazin, sowie das Bloggerfrühstück mit Vichy in Berlin.
Was mich dabei gereizt hat, ist die Riesenauswahl an Produkten und Marken bei Zalando und die Möglichkeit, mich von einer erfahrenen Stylistin beraten zu lassen.
Außerdem war ich unheimlich gespannt, was meine Stylistin mir zusammenstellen würde und ob mir das dann auch wirklich gefällt! Ich bin da nämlich schon sehr skeptisch, wenn mir jemand etwas empfehlen möchte, das gebe ich ehrlich zu...
Riesige Auswahl
Meine Stylistin Ruth war mir gleich anhand ihres Profils und ihrer hinterlegten Pinterest Boards sympathisch! Die dort gezeigten Styles haben mich sofort überzeugt und ich war schon mal beruhigt, dass da sicher nichts ganz schreckliches rauskommen würde ;-)
Ich habe mein detailliertes online Profil ausgefüllt (Größen, Vorlieben, Längen, Ausschnitte, Absatzhöhen, Marken, Farben, Anlass, etc.) und danach haben wir ein Telefongespräch vereinbart um die Feinheiten abzustimmen. Dabei ging es v.a. darum, was gar nicht in Frage kommt: ich trage keine Pullover, mag nichts grobgestricktes und keine dicken Materialien bitte, keine Rollkrägen, nichts romantisches und trotz meiner Vorliebe für feminin-elegante Sachen, bitte auf gar keinen Fall zu "ladylike" oder "madamig"!!
Aber auch praktische Dinge wie der Schnitt von Schuhen (ich habe einen starken rechten Ballen und kann daher keine weit ausgeschnittenen Schuhe tragen oder Pumps, die genau dort den Rand haben) wurden angesprochen. Es war also ein wirklich detailliertes Gespräch rund um meinen Stil.
Heute beginne ich mit meinem ersten Tagesoutfit - einem klassischen Bürolook mit Hose, den ich genau so an einem normalen Arbeitstag tragen würde! 100% getroffen, Ruth!! Nächstes Mal stelle ich Euch einen eleganteren Look im Wickelkleid vor.
Ruth's abschließende Frage war: "Gibt es etwas, was Du unbedingt mal ausprobieren möchtest, aber noch nie getragen hast?" - Oh ja! Aber was das ist, zeige ich Euch dann im 3. Teil meiner Testserie.

Part 1 - Work attire doesn't have to be boring!
Do you ever ask for assistance in a shop? And I don't mean asking for a different size but styling advice. When I am asked "Can I help you?" my immediate answer will be something like "No thank you, just looking!" Sounds familiar? I know what I am looking for and even more: I don't trust in the shop assistants' competencies...
In the meantime I shop online most of the time. Only occasionally I go to real stores, mainly when I am in London or on holidays. I am living in the countryside and the choice is so limited here. Of course, when I am looking for presents, individual or handmade things, accessories or jewellery or deco for my home or the garden, I still love shopping locally!
Recently I have been invited by the editors of digital magazine sisterMAG Thea and Antonia (they are sisters - hence the name sisterMAG) to test the online Styling Service ZALON by Zalando. Since I already knew them both as well as the lovely team from my previous Yoga Covershooting for their other magazine LEBENLANG and our blogger breakfast talk with Vichy in Berlin, I instantly agreed!
Zalando, one of the biggest German online retailers, offers more than 1500 different brands and this variety and the option to deal with an experienced stylist really attracted me and I was excited to try their styling service.
Since I am very picky in what I wear and also know my personal style, I was curious what somebody else will select for me! Will I like it? Would I wear it?

When I checked out the online profile of my stylist Ruth and had a look at the link to her Pinterest boards right away I connected with her and her style. From the beginning I felt I was in good hands and it couldn't go completely wrong (and I was right!)
In my personal online profile I filled in the questions as detailled as possible - sizes, favourites, seamlength, cleavages, brands, fabrics, colours, occasion, etc. Based on this background information we arranged a phonecall and Ruth asked me additional questions in order to put three outfits together. "Is there anything you don't wear?" - No jumpers, no chunky, warm knits and thick fabrics, no turtlenecks and no romantic or girly outfits. I love feminine-elegant pieces but can't stand too ladylike looks! It was a really nice and helpful conversation and we talked about lots of stylistic details.
Ruth's final question was :"Is there anything you always wanted to wear but never did?" - Oh yes! I will tell and show you in the third and last part of my styling series!
I am starting with my first look - a classic yet modern and trendy office look with printed trousers and a navyblue blazer. I'd exactly wear this to the office - Ruth got it 100% right!!
