Viele meiner Leserinnen wissen, dass ich nicht nur Bloggerin, sondern auch voll berufstätig bin. Fragt mich nicht, wie ich das zeitlich schaffe, das weiß ich manchmal auch nicht... ;-)

Im Rahmen meiner langjährigen Tätigkeit in einer internationalen, militärischen Oganisation ergeben sich neben Meetings oder der Betreuung hochrangiger Geschäftspartner häufig Anlässe, die einen bestimmten Dresscode erfordern. Feiern der einzelnen Nationen, Cocktailparties, Empfänge, formelle Abendessen bis hin zu offiziellen Veranstaltungen, deren Ablauf durch ein genaues Protokoll festgelegt ist. Dazu gehört natürlich auch eine entsprechende Kleiderordnung.

Vor kurzem stand ein Kommandowechsel an und ich habe mich für eine schwarze Hose und Pumps mit weißem, taillierten Blazer in Wickeloptik entschieden. Es wurde dann so warm, dass ich wohl besser ein Kleid gewählt hätte, aber da war es schon zu spät! Mein seidiges Nickituch, das dem ganzen Look einen sommerlichen Farbtupfer gibt, habe ich aber zwischendurch abgemacht - modisches Highlight hin oder her...

Im Zweifel immer einen klassischen Stil mit individuellen Accessoires wählen!

Für einen offiziellen Anlass greife ich bei meiner Kleiderwahl immer auf eine klassische Lösung zurück. Hier steht ein angemessener Look an erster Stelle, was natürlich keineswegs bedeutet, dass ich dabei meinen persönlichen Stil aufgeben oder auf modische Akzente verzichten muss! Allerdings probiere ich hier keine aktuellen Trends aus, sondern setze immer auf gut gestylte Klassiker.

WHAT TO WEAR TO AN OFFICIAL FUNCTION IN SUMMER

If you have been following my blog for some time, you know I have a full time job besides my life as a style blogger. At certain times it gets a bit overwhelming but of course I love both and don't want to miss either of them!

In my day job at an international military organisation I am often involved in events, I participate in meetings, I host high ranking officers or civilian equivalents, there are numerous social functions, formal luncheons or dinners, receptions and official events which follow a strict protocol and require an appropriate dress code - for military members as well as civilian attendees.

On the occasion of a recent Change of Command I went for black trousers and pumps and a white fitted blazer by Hugo Boss. Temperatures increased during the day and I wish I had chosen a light summer dress but it was too late then... Although my silky neckerchief added some colour to my black and white look, I had to take it off since it was too warm!

When in doubt, go for a classy style and add individual accessories!

My recommendation when you are in doubt what to wear to a formal occasion: Play safe and opt for a classic look. You can always add some individual accessories and still make it your own personal style!
