1 LOOK - 2 STYLINGS: OFFICE AND AFTER WORK

OFFICE LOOK... AND AFTER WORK

First: We are World Champions! The final at the Maracanã has been incredibly exciting and the boys have done a fantastic job and made us Germans proud! Thank you!!
As a passionate football fan I already look forward to the kick-off of the English Premier League mid August, a week before the start of our Bundesliga!

In Southern Germany the summer break hasn't started yet and I am counting the weeks until I can take some leave in August. That means I am still at work and this is a typical look I am wearing these days. A classic stretch pencil skirt (seen here) paired with a blazer at the office - replaced by a casual denim jacket for an easy after work look.

Nude pumps - chic and versatile

Again and again I have worn my old nude heels and mentioned how much I love them... finally it was time to replace them with a new pair. Cloggs sent me these nude patent heels by Clarks and it was an easy good-bye to my old ones. Classy with a small platform and extremely comfortable with a soft shock-absorbing inner sole they have already become my new favourites!

LADY OF THE MONTH : WELL-LIVING BLOG

LADY OF THE MONTH

The Canary Islands, Spain are a holiday destination for us Europeans but my new Lady of the Month, Luba is living on Tenerife all year round! Sounds amazing, doesn't it?

Besides blogging about fashion, Luba also shares her other passions - travel, art, hidden places on the island, her favourite restaurants and hotels and tips for a healthy lifestyle, nutrition (she calls herself a veggie gourmet) and wellbeing. I love that Luba's Well-living blog reflects this approach to life which had its rough moments during her childhood.

Thank you so much, dear Luba for being part of my series!

LADY OF THE MONTH

Would you share some personal information? Since when do you live on your “paradise” island Tenerife?

I was born in Bulgaria but at the age of 18 I moved to Tenerife. Here I studied Tourism and then worked in a hotel resort as an event planner and coordinator for 2 years. In 2003 I founded my first company and since then I am striving to perform my best cameo of business women.

The name “Well-living blog” reflects your lifestyle. Can you tell us more about your healthy way of living, your nutrition and sports?

I had a very though childhood in Bulgaria. In winter the school of my hometown had no budget to pay for the heating and my class mates and I stayed for 6 – 7 hours frozen in the classroom when outside temperatures were below 0C.  As a result I spent many days in bed and took loads of antibiotics. At some point I knew that I had to restore my immune system and I was attracted by natural medicine, healthy food and a whole healthy lifestyle.  Sport has always been a cornerstone in my life and I can't imagine life without it.  I am in the gym 3 to 4 times a week plus once a week I practice Iyengar yoga.

____________________________

When and why did you start blogging and what is your message? What goals do you have with your blog?

I started 2 years ago as a hobby. At that time I was working very hard in a renewable energy project and I needed my kind of escape. At the beginning I was not sure if I wanted to blog about travel, gastronomy or fashion. I just wanted to share my passions and my lifestyle.  After the first few months I realized that the most wanted posts are the ones with outfits, and that's why fashion became the main category.
My greatest satisfaction is when I receive messages from lovely readers telling me that they find inspirations in my outfits.
I constantly re-style and re-cycle my items and one of my messages is that being stylish is more important than being fashionable. I also want to raise awareness about sustainable fashion and I do my best to support small social brands.
Talking about goals, I wish I could travel more with the blog, and share more lifestyle and secret places around the world.

How would you describe your style? What makes an outfit truly yours?

My style is classic with an edgy touch. It is real and wearable. It is not about the latest fashion trend but about adopting it to my personal style. My secret? I love to mix dressy and casual items or create monochrome looks with a touch of color added by the accessories.

When and why did you start blogging and what is your message? What goals do you have with your blog?

Was macht Deinen eigenen Stil aus?

As a full-time blogger, how do you balance your time dedicated to the blog and your personal life? How does a typical day look like?

I am juggling between my blog and my business as an adviser and developer of a sustainable brand's identity.  My working day starts at 7.30 am, first thing I do is publishing the daily post and share it on my socials. After a short break for a healthy breakfast,  I follow up  with e-mails, messages and answer requests. At 12.30 pm I am usually off to the gym, then lunch and my afternoon round of programming, CEO works, projects follow up. Before sunset I go for a blog shooting, later I edit the pictures and prepare the blog post for the next day. At 9.00 pm I hang out for 1 hour on Twitter with my #fashionladies community. And then finally I have a little spare time to read something before I go to bed. This is a typical day when I do no have to attend any event.

____________________________

Have you ever attended a blogger conference, a major blogger event or an international Fashion Week?

Yes, a couple of weeks ago I attended a national bloggers conference in Madrid which was very enriching. And so far I have been visiting the Fashion weeks of Madrid, Barcelona and Canary Islands.
____________________________

Do you occasionally meet fellow bloggers? How do your non-blogger friends react to your blog?

Here on Tenerife I know about 30 fashion bloggers. We often hang out together and see each other at the fashion events on the island.  After 2 years, my non-blogger friends  are still curios about this “unknown” world and they often ask me funny questions. But all of them support me and read my blog on daily basis.

Do you prefer online shopping or do you love extensive shopping trips?

I do both of them, but I still prefer shopping trips. They are so much fun!

____________________________

Do you have any fashion or style icon?

Yes I have! Olivia Palermo and Victoria Beckham are very inspiring.

Which blogs inspire you? What are your daily reads?

I have two super favorite blogs: The Glamourai and Wendy's Lookbook.

STILL IN LOVE WITH STRIPES... AFTER 22 YEARS

STILL IN LOVE WITH STRIPES... AFTER 22 YEARS

When I was pregnant with my first child I stood on the waterfront and watched the end of a regatta of my sailing club. A male friend on one of the boats spotted me and shouted out to me: "Annette, stripes make you look fat!" I was wearing this strech dress with my baby bump and will never forget that funny situation! My son will turn 22 by the end of this month and now you know how old my striped dress is! Currently I love these striped dresses by OTTO and Phase Eight!

Very often I mix old pieces with new purchases and organising my wardrobe is one of my strengthes: I clearly sort my clothes by colour from black on the left to white on the right side, everything on the same type of coat hangers. I admit, it is a bit of an obsession but it makes it easier for me to get dressed in the mornings and I have a good overview of what I have or need to buy.

At the turn of the season I move clothes of the passing season into the basement and bring up the new ones. At that time I also do a major clear out:
  1. keep: new, fits and suits me well
  2. alter: my seamstress is my hero!
  3. unsure: too good to give away, for reconsideration
  4. sell:on ebay or other platforms
  5. donate: give to charity
How are you organising your clothes?

MEIN STREIFENKLEID...

PERFECT DRESS FOR HOT SUMMER DAYS

THE PERFECT DRESS FOR A HOT SUMMER'S DAY

July, summer, sunshine, hot temperatures, swimming in the lake, sitting outside until late at night... I can only remember long periods of hot summer weather from my childhood when I spent every afternoon at the local pool with my friends. Great memories!

Often our climate here in the Bavarian Alps is inconsistent nowadays but when the sun is shining, I take every opportunity to stay outside in my lovely garden. Today has been one of these glorious days with beautiful summer weather! Time to wear my light and airy silver-grey empire line dress which isn't clinging around the waist and ideal for high temperatures. Unfortunately it is no longer available but I love these by Little Mistress, NoaNoa and Elégance.
