Would you share some personal information on your background and family? Where do you come from and live?
I'm from western Pennsylvania originally. But always a "PA" girl. It's the perfect state to me, all seasons, no crazy natural disasters! I came to Philadelphia to attend college and didn't leave. This is such a great city, close to D.C., NYC, and my favorite - the shore! My husband and I married in 2006 and the "nuggets" (boy/girl twins) were born 2 years later. I wear many hats from wife, mom, HR professional, and lifestyle blogger.
Würdest Du ein paar persönliche Informationen preisgeben? Woher kommst Du und wo lebst Du?
Ich komme ursprünglich aus dem westlichen Pennsylvania und fühle mich dieser Gegend auch sehr verbunden. Für mich der perfekte Staat mit allen Jahreszeiten und gemäßigtem Klima ohne Naturkatastrophen! Ich bin für mein Studium nach Philadelphia gezogen und lebe seitdem hier. Es ist eine großartige Stadt, nicht weit bis Washington DC und New York - und vor allem - zur Küste! Mein Mann und ich haben 2006 geheiratet und 2 Jahre später kamen meine Zwillinge auf die Welt, ein Junge und ein Mädchen. Meine Aufgaben sind vielfältig: Ehefrau, Mutter, Personalberaterin und Lifestyle Bloggerin.
How do you balance your time dedicated to the blog and your family? How does a typical day look like?
I’ll be honest, it’s difficult, it's a lot to juggle and I'm not always good at it (actually rarely). I heard once that you can do it all, just not at the same time. I try to keep things in check and my husband, gotta love him, keeps me in check too. My typical day starts before 6. Whether I’m headed to the office or driving the nuggets to school, I have to be up early. I head to my home office first thing to check emails and social media. My day is everything from working my job, to running errands, attending to blogging details, photo shoots, and an occasional lunch with a girlfriend.
Wie teilst Du Deine Zeit zwischen Familie und Blog auf? Wie sieht ein typischer Tag bei Dir aus?
Ganz ehrlich? Es ist schwierig und ich kämpfe mich durch, das klappt nicht immer... eher selten! Jemand hat mal gesagt "Du schaffst das alles, aber nicht gleichzeitig!" Ich versuche, alles unter Kontrolle zu haben und mein Mann, den ich wirklich liebe, hat mich unter Kontrolle ;-) Ein normaler Tag beginnt bereits vor 6 Uhr, egal ob ich ins Büro gehe oder die Kinder in die Schule fahre, ich starte immer früh. Als erstes checke ich meine mails und social media. Mein Tag besteht aus meinem Job, Einkäufeb und Erledigungen, Blogarbeit, Fotos machen und hin und wieder mal ein Mittagessen mit einer Freundin.
When and why did you start blogging and which goals do you have with your blog?
I started blogging in December of 2011. At the time I had a small jewelry business and thought a blog would be a great place to showcase my pieces. I found blogging and the fashion more exciting and rewarding than the jewelry business so, here I am. I do have goals and have met many. At this point it's hard to have goals because my days are so sporadic. I'm someone who relishes and lives on planning, order, and my calendar. But I'm learning that with kids and family it's more about living in the moment. Moments of funny, moments of beauty, moments joy because the moments are just that. Moments that will be gone and if I'm focused on other things, I'll miss them. So I guess my goal is to live in the moment.
Wann und warum hast Du mit bloggen angefangen und was sind Deine Ziele?
Ich habe 2011 angefangen zu bloggen. Zu der Zeit hatte ich ein kleines Schmuckunternehmen und dachte, es sei eine gute Möglichkeit, meinen Schmuck zu präsentieren.
Schnell habe ich gemerkt, dass mich bloggen und Mode mehr interessieren und sich mehr auszahlen als mein Schmuckbusiness. Ich habe durchaus Ziele und ich habe bereits viele davon erreicht. Momentan ist es aber eher schwierig, neue zu setzen, da meine Tagesabläufe so unregelmäßig sind. Ich genieße es einfach und baue auf meine Planung und genieße den Moment mit meiner Familie. Darum geht es am meisten. Und diese Momente vergehen so schnell, daher möchte ich sie genießen und das ist derzeit mein Ziel.
How would you describe your style? What makes an outfit truly yours?
That's a tough question for me. I'm everything from preppy to trendy, bohemian to classic. I'm not really sure what makes an outfit truly Lulu! I think my style is always evolving and I like mixing things up. Maybe heels? I'm just 5'1" so heels make a huge difference in style and photographs!
Wie würdest Du Deinen Stil bezeichen und was macht Deinen Look aus?
Das ist eine schwierige Frage. Eigentlich alles von preppy bis trendy,
boho bis klassisch. Ich kann wirklich nicht genau sagen, was genau den "Lulu Stil" ausmacht! Mein Stil entwickelt sich ständig weiter und ich mixe gerne. Vielleicht hohe Schuhe? Ich bin nur 1,55m groß und da machen hohe Absätze unheimlich viel aus, sowohl stilmäßig als auch auf Fotos!

J.Crew, Club Monaco, AG denim, Tory Burch, anything at Piperlime or Nordstrom. Also loving Anthropologie lately!

Do you prefer online shopping or do you love going shopping?
Oh online shopping for sure. I don't like crowds, going back and forth from store to store to check out different styles and sales. I'd rather be comfy on my sofa at home, having 10 different store "windows" open, checking my favorite style, prioritizing what I want within my budget. I find I make more rational decisions when I'm able to really think through my purchases as well. So definitely online shopping!
Shoppst Du lieber online oder vor Ort?
Oh
auf jeden Fall online shopping. Ich kann Menschenansammlungen nicht ausstehen und von Laden zu Laden zu ziehen und Angebote und Preise miteinander zu vergleichen. Viel lieber sitze ich zuhause auf dem Sofa und schaue virtuell in 10 verschiedene Schaufenster und suche mir aus, was zu mir und meinem Budget passt. Auf diese Weise habe ich alles viel besser unter Kontrolle. Also für mich gilt auf jeden Fall: online shopping!
Have you ever attended a blogger conference, a major blogger event or a Fashion Week?
I have not. Having elementary children makes scheduling out of town events difficult. I would love to at some point!
Hast Du jemals an einer Bloggerkonferenz oder einem größeren Bloggerevent teilgenommen oder eine Modewoche besucht?
Nein, noch nicht. Da meine Kinder noch in der Grundschule sind, sind Reisen für mich momentan schwierig. Später gerne!
Do you occasionally meet fellow bloggers? How do your non-blogger friends react to your blog?
I have met some local bloggers and chat frequently on the phone with others. My non-blogger friends are very supportive. Some of them text me outfits that they've put together because of some of my posts. It's great to know that I inspire them.
Triffst Du Dich hin und wieder mit anderen Bloggern? Wie reagiert Dein Freundeskreis auf Deinen Blog?
Ich habe schon einige Bloggerinnen vor Ort getroffen und telefoniere häufig mit einigen anderen. Meine nicht-bloggenden Freundinnen unterstützen mich sehr. Einige schicken mir sogar Fotos ihrer Outfits, die sie aufgrund meiner posts zusammengestellt haben. Das freut mich besonders, dass ich sie inspirieren kann!
Do you have any fashion or style icon?
Olivia Palermo is definitely a style icon and my fashion muse. She has a really unique style. Not always perfect, no one is, but someone I look to for great street style.
Which blogs inspire you? What are your daily reads?
I have certain blogs I follow but not daily. My days are so hectic that I usually catch up on reads Friday night. There are a lot of blogs that inspire me, all types of bloggers from the big to the little. I love the bloggers that mix high/low styles together. That to me is truly an art and talent. Something I really strive to do!

Olivia Palermo ist definitiv mein Vorbild in Sachen Stil und Mode. Sie hat einen einzigartigen Stil. Nicht immer perfekt, das gibt es wohl nicht, aber sicherlich jemand, von der ich mir gerne etwas abschaue.

Welche Blogs inspirieren Dich? Welche liest Du täglich?
Ich lese einige Blogs, aber nicht täglich, da ich einfach nicht dazu komme. Freitagabend nehme ich mir die Zeit dazu, mir einen Überblick zu verschaffen. Es gibt viele Blogs, die mich inspirieren, egal ob von großen oder unbekannteren Bloggerinnen. Am liebsten mag ich Bloggerinnen, die teurere Teile mit günstigen mixen. Das ist für mich echt eine Kunst und ein Talent. Und genau das, was auch ich erreichen möchte!
