Bei Dunkelblau und Weiß denke ich immer an meine Kollegen von der Luftwaffe und Marine in ihren Uniformen (und meiner eigene Uniform während der vielen Jahre, die ich für Swissair gearbeitet habe).
Mein Look heute ist zwar in den klassischen Farben dieser Uniformen gehalten, aber dennoch anders, ohne Strenge, sondern weich und feminin!
Endlich kann man wieder weiße Hosen tragen - im Winter finde ich sie, genauso wie weiße Röcke, einfach unpassend und daher bleiben sie in der kalten Jahreszeit im Schrank.
Spring and early summer, my favourite time of the year - by far! You can literally watch the nature bringing out lots of new shades of fresh green every day. Since we took these photos, it even looks a lot greener and lusher!
Finally I can wear white again - not only white blouses or tops but complete looks in white. I know there is no limitation but "winterwhite" is not really an option here in our climate. During the colder season I tend to go for creme and beige but wear dark trousers out of practical reasons. White remains a summer colour for me and I love pairing it with nude tones. I have already shown you my sleevelest vest with a black look here. Today it is a summer version and I am so happy about this purchase from H&M as the quality is really good which even my seamstress confirmed when I showed it to her recently.
I took advantage of the sunshine we had these days and spent as much time as possible outside. Besides gardening it was lovely sitting on my terrace reading and just enjoying the nice spring weather. That also gave my legs a chance for a light tan to get them ready for more skirts and dresses over the next months!
The lovely weather encouraged me to wear this spring look from Boden with its unique style: Colourful graphic prints yet classy and easy to combine with pieces I already have in my wardrobe. The blue A-line skirt is a great choice for summer and although I am only 5'4 I ordered the "long" version as I prefer a length that doesn't end above my knees.
My wellbeing extremely depends on the weather and you have heard me complaining about our long winter and the amount of snow many times... (yes, I'll move to another country when I retire or at least spend the winters somewhere else!) Finally temperatures are increasing and our snow is melting which is about time in April!
Winter... a never endling story this year. After a heavy storm over Germany, I woke up to a snow storm yesterday and it is still snowing. I am glad I am driving a SUV and still have my winter tyres - our rule is to keep them "from October to Easter".
Finally I have recovered from a bad cold and want thank you so much for all your kind get well wishes over on Instagram! The ongoing bad weather prevented us from taking photos outside and you don't want to see me wearing my odd down coat and winter boots over this outfit, do you?
For a long time I haven't bought anything newfrom H&M, simply because the quality, fabrics and colours didn't appeal to me. However, when I saw this long waistcoat - something I was looking for quite a while - I thought I'd give it a try. And I was surprised when I received it: I really love the heavy quality (it is fully lined) and the visible stitching. For now I have paired it with black but I am looking forward to a spring/summer styling with lighter colours.

hört er denn nie auf?Nach dem heftigen Sturm kam jetzt auch noch Schnee dazu!! Ich, die Winter sowieso nicht ausstehen kann und dann auch noch jetzt, Anfang April?! Wie gut, dass mein Auto einen Allrad hat und ich meine Winterreifen noch drauf habe. Nicht ohne Grund gibt es die "von Oktober bis Ostern" Regel...
Endlich habe ich meine heftige Erkältung überstanden. Ganz lieben Dank für Eure zahlreichen Aufmunterungen und guten Wünsche auf Instagram! Nachdem momentan Außenaufnahmen unmöglich sind - es sei denn, Ihr findet meinen alten Daunenmantel, Winterstiefel, Fäustlinge und dicken Schal inspirierend ;-) gibt es heute mal Innenfotos.
Schon lange war ich auf der Suche nach einem langen, ärmellosen Blazer und wurde doch tatsächlich bei H&M fündig! Ich habe dort lange nichts mehr gekauft, einfach weil mich die Qualität, Stoffe und Farben in letzter Zeit überhaupt nicht angesprochen haben. In der neuen Kollektion gibt es jedoch einige Teile, die mich interessierten und ich war von der Qualität dieser langen Weste wirklich überrascht - ein fester, dennoch schön fallender Stoff, voll gefüttert und hübsche, sichtbare Absteppungen. Kombiniert habe ich sie mit Schwarz, aber wenn sich das Wetter hoffentlich doch noch eines Besseren besinnen sollte, möchte ich sie Euch gerne noch in einer hellen Variante mit Weiß zeigen.
Winter finally seemed to be over and the March sun has been strong enough to get rid of the remaining snow. But then I woke up to another white landscape last weekend and the forecast doesn't look promising at all. Also I am spending these days at home as I came down with a cold and a throat infection. It is an up and down at this time of the year!
I am so ready for spring and the colours of my silky blue tunic from ESPRIT let me dream of the sea, sunshine and summer holidays! Until then I am pairing them with my favourite leather leggings. This is another mix of clothes from different seasons to show you how to make the most of them. With our unpredictable weather I'd never make full use of my lighter clothes otherwise.
I think this boho tunic will also be a great match with my white linen trousers or the flared jeans which I recently ordered from Mango. Unfortunately they are far too long for my 5'4... another job for my seamstress before I can show you that trendy combination.
Der Winter schien sich endlich zurückgezogen zu haben und die Märzsonne war stark genug, den letzten Schnee schmelzen zu lassen. Leider war am Sonntagmorgen doch wieder alles Weiß und die Vorhersage für diese Woche hört sich auch gar nicht gut an. Dazu kommt, dass ich momentan mit einer Erkältung, Hals- und Kopfschmerzen zuhause bin... diese Jahreszeit mit ihrem ständigen Wetterwechsel hat so viele erwischt!
Während ich also weiter von einem richtigen Frühling träume, denke ich mit meiner neuen, fließenden Tunika von ESPRIT in kräftigen Blautönen sogar schon voraus an Sommer, Meer und Urlaub! Bis dahin trage ich sie mit meiner Lieblings Lederleggings, denn so ein saisonaler Mix ist mir wichtig. Ich möchte meine leichtere Kleidung nicht nur für die warmen Sommermonate aufheben, sondern möglichst viel davon haben und trage sie daher in verschiedenen Kombinationen. Perfekt wird sie zu meiner weißen, weiten Leinenhose oder meiner neuen ausgestellten Jeans passen, die ich mir neulich bei Mango bestellt habe. Leider ist sie derart lang, dass sie mir meine Schneiderin gerade erst passend machen muss, bevor ich sie Euch in einer aktuellen Boho Kombination zeigen kann.
This is one of my favourite dresses, it is from a brand called "Le Trou d'Aguille" and the style, prints and satin fabric always remind me of Asia. That's why I feel my golden clutch which my friend Véronique brought me from a recent trip to Bali, is the perfect accessory!
Have you ever been to the Far East? I travelled there many times and visited Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, the Maldives, Singapore, Hongkong, Indonesia and the Philippines, some of them repeatedly. I can never get enough of the amazing culture and traditions, tropical nature, excellent Asian food with fish and fresh fruit and of course paradise beaches...
Satin is a very delicate fabric and for a perfect silhouette I am wearing shapewear underneath (I have even included a sneak peek photo further down). With a high waist and a shorter length they offer perfect support from tummy to the upper legs. Neutrally coloured they are ideal under body-fitted and lightweight dresses and skirts.
ERINNERUNGEN AN FERNOST
Heute trage ich eines meiner Lieblingskleider, es ist vom Label "Le Trou d'Aguille" (teilweise erhältlich über Conley's) und es erinnert mich vom Stil, Druck und Satinstoff her immer an Asien. Daher habe ich es auch mit meiner goldenen Bast Clutch kombiniert, die mir meine Freundin Véronique kürzlich aus Bali mitgebracht hat.
Wart Ihr schon einmal in Asien? Ich habe viele Länder bereist, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, die Malediven, Singapur, Hongkong, Indonesien und die Philippinen, teilweise war ich mehrfach dort. Ich bin von der Kultur und den Traditionen fasziniert, liebe die tropisch grünen Landschaften und asiatisches Essen wie frischen Fisch und Meeresfrüchte, saftige Mangos, Papayas oder Bananen, die wirklich fruchtig sind! Und natürlich die Traumstrände...
Damit sich unter meinem leichten Satinkleid auch wirklich nichts abzeichnet, trage ich drunter Shapewear - ich habe auch extra ein Stückchen für Euch hervorblitzen lassen! Das Höschen sitzt perfekt, reicht von einer hohen Taille bis etwa zur Mitte der Oberschenkel und formt damit Bauch, Po und Beine!

HOW TO WEAR WIDE LEG TROUSERS
Pay attention to the right length - they should almost touch the floor. I had mine adjusted by my seamstress according to the height of my heels.
Wear them with high heels unless you are really tall but I still find higher heels better.

MEINE NEUE LIEBE - WEITE HOSEN
In meinem Kleiderschrank habe ich Skinnies, Bootcut Jeans, High waisted und 7/8 Schnitte, aber dies ist mein erstes Paar weite Hosen. Mit nur 1,63 war ich mir nie sicher, ob ich sie tragen kann, wollte es aber schon lange ausprobieren. Bin ich froh, dass ich es endlich getan habe!
Diese weiße Leinenhose, die ich mir bei Damart aussuchen durfte, überzeugt mich in jeder Hinsicht. Super angenehm zu tragen und durch kleine Stretcheinsätze am Bund sitzt sie perfekt. Genau zu meinem Stil passend und jetzt bin ich schon auf der Suche nach einer schwarzen Marlene Hose...

WIE TRÄGT MAN WEITE HOSEN?
Sie müssen lang sein - sehr lang sogar, d.h. nur minimal über dem Boden! Ich habe meine von meiner Schneiderin an hohe Pumps anpassen lassen.
Mit hohen Schuhen tragen - es sei denn, Ihr seid wirklich sehr groß, dennoch finde ich sie mit hohem Absatz einfach schicker.
